Contact us
If you would like to get more information about a pet we have for adoption the best thing to do will be fill out an application for that pet so you are contacted by the correct people. We are volunteers and don't have the time to make exploratory calls nor make cold calls where we don't know what the actual point of the call is.
If you have a question or request outside of an inquiry about an available pet this is the best place to submit your questions!
Owner Give Up Information.
Hello! We're very sorry that you find yourself here.
We are a non-for-profit rescue that is foster based. We do have an extensive rehoming program and aim to concisely summarize that program here.
The most common owner give up reasons are typically around being subject to poor rescue, placement, and return policies of these pump and dump rescues. We get A LOT of owner give up requests, it often makes up half of our listed dogs unfortunately.
We're not equipped to have so many dogs dumped in our laps for the convivence of others to escape their previous decisions/commitments. We do understand you may have been misled or flat out lied to in the process of adopting your dog. These dogs to require help, no doubt.
However, we are limited ourselves when it comes to open foster homes and the safest/best we can offer is a training/assessment period. Each dog will get a specific training plan for them that we ask the owners to follow through on. Owner give ups will be required to participate in the initial phase of training, approx. 6 to 8 weeks.
We do not offer any instant removal of behavioral dogs for free. To relinquish a dog to a board and train then rehome program where you are free of responsibility immediately it will come with a fee.
1. We have to get to know the dog and will help you with safety handling/training immediately. This means we will give you guidelines to exist safely with the dog you're struggling with during this initial training period.
2. We need to see what training the dog responds to and get a new foundation going.
3. If the if you see a way you can keep the dog during this first phase than we work towards that goal.
4. If you complete the initial training program/phase it will go a long way to helping your dog secure a new forever home.
